I feel like this is all I’ve been saying in the last few posts, but I really had fun with this! I love combining art on paper with digital coloring. Original submission.

I like how this turned out although I liked it a lot more before I colored it. Sometimes the urge to “finish” something is just too strong. Submission.

I wish I would have saved the black & white version before I colored it, but it still turned out pretty cool. Submission.
Sketch Daily: Free Draw Friday
I’ve been trying to focus on portraits and figures as much as possible lately. It’s what I enjoy drawing the most and the only way I’ll get better is with constant practice.
This week I drew Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) from Eureka. I miss that show so much and wish they’d bring it back.
I also started a daily practice of sketching either 5 figures or 5 portraits in pen. These are my first two pages from the last couple days.
Today I drew a Reddit Gets Drawn photo. I absolutely love this image and wish I would have executed my version a little better. I’m definitely going to attempt this one again sometime and see if I can improve it.

Got a new sketchbook and a set of grey tone markers just for portrait & figure sketching. It’s a 75 page book and this is my first sketch. It will be interesting to see the progression from the beginning to the end of the book. 1 down, 74 to go.
